Ayurvedic Golden Milk

Spiced and delicious, this warm drink does so much more than just satisfy your tummy! For centuries, Turmeric (known as Haldi in hindi) has been used for it's anti-inflammatory properties. The active compound is curcumin, activated with just a dash of black pepper.

Science has proven the natural turmeric benefits for inflammation, but Haldi also has the benefit of being one of the spices that is balancing for all three dosha types. Simply put, Doshas are the energy forces in the body that can create problems and health issues when not in balance. The three dosha types are Vata (Ether, Air), Pitta (Fire) and Kapha (Earth, Water). While certain foods and spices can help balance one or another dosha, Haldi is a spice thought to bring harmony to all three.

Simple Recipe for Golden Haldi Milk.

1 cup milk of your choosing

2 teaspoons of ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon of ghee or butter

Dash of black pepper

Cinnamon to taste

I love the spiced flavour all on it's own, but you can add honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter!

Cheers to your good health!
